ChaosCast #7 - Release Randomness
October 6, 2008 – 7:55 am
ChaosCast episode #7 is finally here.
We haven’t put one of these out in over a month, so it was nice to finally catch up and discuss everything that has been going on with the game since release. Our chat sort of follows a few major bullet points we wanted to touch on but overall, it is very random and all over the place. It’s a very natural conversation this time around!
We’re working hard (well, Syp is, anyway) to bring you another great interview in episode #8, so stick around!
Here’s the episode #7 breakdown:
- Round Table Discussion
- What have we been playing?
- How was the launch?
- Collector’s Edition
- Open-world RvR
- Scenario queues
- Keen’s Open-RvR experience
- 1.01 patch
- And much more…
- Welcome to the Community
- The Blowhole
- Jakad asks: I would like to hear more about the PQ reward system. How does a tank or healing class stack up to the DPS classes when trying to rank #1 Top Spot on the PQ Participation. It seems that the pure dps like the Squig Herder will always come out on top. How is healing implemented into PQ Participation?
- Odius asks: The interview w/ Carrie Gouskos was awesome for insight into the ToK at the time. Since the game has been out for a few weeks now, how do you feel it adds to the game, and do you think you will find yourselves maybe going back to collect the titles for some of the more “strange” unlocks?
We hope you enjoy listening to ChaosCast as much as we enjoyed recording it! As always, you can submit your Blowhole questions, feedback, and new community sites to any of our blogs and we’ll make sure to include them in upcoming podcasts! The troublesome trio includes Syp of Waaagh! Blog, Keen of Keen & Graev, and Snafzg of TheGreenskin!

You mention on the podcast that doing only healing will not get you much contribution. I have found quite the opposite to be true as I as a Zealot focus almost entirely on healing and am frequently not in the group yet am rarely out of the top 3 spots and very frequently finish 1st place, so much so that I wonder if overhealing actually counts towards contribution!

Magi usually top damage charts beause they apply 2 weak AoE DOT’s on dozens of people. And it does next to nothing to contribute on actully killing someone.
Well played magus doesn’t top dmg charts. And they still don’t really contribute to winning.
20 people reciving 200-400 damage over 15-20 seconds each isn’t really good damage.

Well at one point you guys were asking why you don’t see new people. Well i can tell you why you don’t see me in the game right now. I can’t find the game anywhere locally and i don’t purchase anything online.

Glad to hear you liked it!
If the Shaman has the best Destruction knockbacks, I imagine the Archmage would have the best Order knockbacks, but I could be wrong.
