ChaosCast #3 - Dolphins, Babies, and Garthilk!
July 2, 2008 – 1:57 pm
ChaosCast episode #3 took us a few extra days to churn out (blame me for going camping) but it’s here nonetheless! And it. is. awesome! If I do say so myself! We are introding a new section this week, called Roasted on the Spit - Community Interviews. Who is our first victim? None other than Garthilk of Warhammer Alliance!
Here’s an episode breakdown:
- The Blowhole - Five thought-provoking questions submitted by our listeners!
- Welcome to the Community - Werit Blog, White Tower of Hoeth, Warhammer Gaming Scene (currently down for remodeling), Wizards and Wenches (haha - I hope you aren’t offended by the jab!)
- Roasted on the Spit - Garthilk, Superadmin of Warhammer Alliance (He really made some of the best live, honest, and passionate comments you’ve ever heard about WAR and its whacky followers)
- Round Table Discussion - June 2008 Newsletter and Baltimore Gamesday Favorites
This is easily the best episode to date, and let me tease you by saying, “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!” because our next two episodes are shaping up VERY nicely.
I’ll just leave it at that!
As always, you can submit your questions on any of our sites and we’ll make sure to answer them in the upcoming podcast! Those sites are Waaagh! Blog, Keen & Graev, and here (obviously)!

Really a good podcast. Keep it up.
What I’d like to hear is you guys discuss DaoC’s RvR system, what they did right and wrong and then look at War’s planned RvR.
For instance I thought I read or heard that DaoC was all about min / maxing in RvR.
Is that the way it’s going to be in War?
Is that the way it should be?
Is that going to hurt attracting casual gamers?
Should Mythic even care?
Anyway, keep up the good work.

Oooh, sweet question(s)! I’ll make sure those are up for discussion next episode!

Great podcast! I even went back and listened to the fist two as well. Keep em coming!
I would like to ask about the RvR experience as well… specifically an overview of how bad ass RvR will be.
I like to think of myself as pretty laid back in general, but whenever I am involved in some type of competition, all bets are most definitely off. My only MMO pvp experience came from random Corp Por’s back in the days of UO and a few World of Warcraft battlegrounds.
How will RvR compare? How much more epic will the competition be? Will I need to buy new pants?

It is really hard for me to answer that question with specifics due to the NDA, but I can assure you that the RvR in WAR will probably be more fun and meaningful than any form of PvP you’ve experienced to date. I say ‘probably’ because everyone has different expectations. Compared to DAOC, there will be similarities and differences, all for the better!
These opinions are based off all the exhibition videos I’ve seen!
Depending on your level of bladder control, you may or may not need new pants, but it might be a good idea to keep an extra pair around just in case.
