Forum Watch (June 10 - June 17, 2008)
June 17, 2008 – 9:12 am
Greetings WARfans, it’s time for your favorite time of the week! Forum Watch! Hosted by yours truly, your ever present host in your time of need, Cicadymn. Brought to you once again by TheGreenskin and…YOU! The loyal viewers. Anyways, this week we’re diving head first into the community, taking a mouthful of basically everything we can find. We see some of Mark Jacobs’ beliefs on payment options, and other TheoryHammering ideas from around the community. So stop on over and check out each of the forums this week! Keep up the good work, I’ll be watching. And until next week: Stay Ready, WAR is coming.
BOOM!’s Chance to get into beta quickly reaches lottery proportions
- Not the longest thread in the world but I think it has some good information for people who have applied their BOOM! codes and what to expect when hoping that will increase your chances. First off theres a 20% chance your code will be one of the 20% codes that will actually get you into the beta. This beta is harder to get into then the White House!
Some good ideas in this thread. I just wish it wasn’t too late to implement them!
- You never know, maybe the Devs beat us to the punch? Either way, There’s some pretty cool thoughts in this thread over at Warhammer Alliance! Don’t forget to go back and browse around. There are many good threads I didn’t get to post this week. If they’re around next week we’ll see about getting them on as well. Keep up the good work!
This massively thought out thread isn’t for the illiterate
- When the boyz over at WAR-RvR start thinking, they really start thinking. It’s mind boggling how thought out some of these threads are. Either way, come by for an in-depth discussion on tanks! I know there are plenty of you wanting to roll one and this is an opportunity you can’t miss out on!
I’ve been on some pretty brutal dates I tell you
- But a date in an MMO? Can’t say that I have. But if this thread is able to draw me out of my cave and post then you know it’s something to check out! If anything just to read everybody’s stories is awesome in and of itself! Stop by and let them know what kind of romantic experiences you’ve had in your MMO of choice. Or rag on them, if you’re above that sort of thing. (Protip: Your not)
And a cluck cluck here, and a cluck cluck- Nooooo not my face!
- Time for a raid! Put on your best armor, look as sharp as you can be. Then after a short trip, Boom! You and as many friends as you can muster have become a horde of chickens waiting to maul unsuspecting lowbies! A fun idea over at Only-WAR is something we as future beta testers must put some time and effort into achieving! A chicken raid could possibly be the biggest highlight of the entire beta test for me.
After learning about WAR, maybe we should rethink our deep-seated rage at a few MMO systems
- It looks like the boyz over at Only-WAR are re-thinking their opinions on Crafting and leveling all together. I can understand what they mean, in most MMO’s that we play crafting is only implemented as a barrier or time sink for us to fight our way, or in most cases, suffer our way through hoping they’ll one day be worth it in the end. But if what the WAR devs are trying to do is what we think they’re wanting. Our rage might be miss placed in this game! Then what are we going to get mad at?
Since it’s technically Forum Watch, I’m giving you the run around
- Props to the boyz at VN Boards for pointing this out! Syp at Waaagh! has compiled a list of 50 things he learned from the Baltimore Games Day convention! Stop on over and become enlightened!
It’s not an emotes thread. It’s THE emotes thread!
- The second thread from the VN Boards WAR section comes to us from the mind of Kooken78. He decided to get a thread going that revolves around the certain emotes that players can perform. What would you like to see? What do you think they’ll have? Got any emotes that are a must in your opinion? Well don’t tell me! Go tell them!
When tackling the tough Issues, I think I’ll need a hammer that weighs about Ten Tons
- See what I did there? Well, even if you didn’t, just make sure you bring a fire extinguisher for this thread. The topic of Racism is a highly volatile subject and when stoked will become hotter than a Bright Wizard after he was dumped by the pugly Empire chick he’s been stalking. If you can’t stand the heat, either take a few steps away from the Bright Wizard, or avoid this thread completely.
Once again, Mark Jacobs puts his foot down
- I’m glad to see our beloved Mythic employee’s not letting anything get in their way! And even when it comes to the touchy subject dealing with peoples money. One thing’s for sure, we know theirs going to be a monthly fee for WAR and after reading his comments. That’s not such a bad thing.
While we wait on housing, we’re going to look more into our guilds!
- So while we can’t expect to be able to pillage player homes at launch I was happy to hear at BGD that they are very much looking into it and hoping to implement it into the future. But for now I think I’m going to enjoy the guild hall, especially when it comes to showing off our goods to alliance members.
