Forum Watch - March 10 - March 17, 2008

Welcome to the next exciting installment of Forum Watch! Warhammer Alliance Edition. I’m your host again, Cicadymn. Today we’re going to move throughout the forum of Warhammer Alliance to pick and choose some interesting stories. This is a great forum to be a part of with cool avatars and a helpful member base who are more than happy to welcome newcomers. This time we visit a few fears of whats to come and Theoryhammer on how it might play out. Come join in the fun! Please! Please! Don’t Do…

• What is your biggest fear for WAR? Welfare epics? Failcakes quests? PQ’s not working right or at all? Tanking still being useless in PvP? What would you advise them not to do?

I’m not level 40, do I still get to eat player faces?

• If I’m not level 40 do I still get to PvP? Hopefully with the chicken mechanic in place this will keep low levels fighting low levels and high levels fighting high levels. You never know though. It could take so long for someone to realize it would take a small group to go run around and gank any young upstart character they find. Still at least you’d have a chance to maybe kill one.

Would you pay to get into beta? I’ve all but given up hope.

• So would you pay a monthly subscription fee to play in the beta? Even if it’s only temporary? I know I wouldn’t. It feels like we’re closer and closer to the release date, while the numbers of people subscribing to play are staggering I don’t think I’d throw my money at them quite yet. I say we wait till June and pray to Tzeentch it releases.

Will there be anything bad other than hordes of dangerous monsters in dungeons?

• Ever wonder if there is more to being in a violent world full of Orcs, rat men, and drunken midgets? I know I haven’t. But this post at Warhammer alliance sure has. He’s wondering if there will be any types of traps and such a player could run into? I think we’re seeing that in the dungeons but they go a little more in depth.

Just because I’m encased in Iron, doesn’t mean that fireball wont hurt.

• In this thread we find a group of players Theoryhammering over whether or not a line of tanks will even matter if there is a barrage of ranged attacks flying in from a good distance away. Seems to be the answer is simply healers and ranged casters may step in front of the tanks in an effort to get their targeted RDPS enemies (or healers for that matter) in range. Stop by and tell them what you think.

So I’m holding a giant sheet of metal, what’s it going to do for me?

• So besides looking badass and generally threatening what else will shields do? Will they add to armor? Will they only make a block chance? Or will they do a little of both? More Theoryhammering going on here. Tread lightly.

Mark Jacobs steps in and points out the obvious after ten minutes spent in another MMO’s official forum.

• So once again we come to the question, “Is it alright for an MMO to not have an official forum”. I think it is, and so does Mark Jacobs. He goes into what we’ve seen time and time again as MMO’s have flared up and fallen down. And even the others that have stuck around for longer. All I know is that I can go into the WoW forums liking my class, and leave despising it and thinking it was broken. In my opinion, thats not what a forum is for. But that’s up to you to decide.
