The Secret Lives of Mobs - On Hiatus
November 26, 2007 – 8:47 pm“Unfortunately this has left me buried and I’m going to have to take a hiatus from the strip so this is going to be the last new one for a while.”
It would appear as though real life has caught up with WAR webcomic artist, Rory Phillips. As stated in his most recent strip, “Ambush,” The Secret Lives of Mobs (SLoM) founder just doesn’t have enough time to keep up with his webcomic hobby at the moment. If you take a peek over at his site, you have to wonder how much time this guy puts into his strips, because they’re nothing short of breathtaking.
The penciling and colouring are as good as you’d see in many mainstream comic books by publishers like Marvel and DC Comics, and the storytelling ranges from short and sweet to epic. I hate to admit it, but I’m a little jealous of Father Jack’s mad skills!
In my searches for Warhammer Online webcomics, the only two series I found that were dedicated to it were SLoM and A Touch of Tentacle. Both of them inspired me to create my own little doodles, and for that, I thank them. I recently sent Rory and Shannon (creator of aToT) an email, letting them know about The Greenskin and both were really supportive and wished me well. I thought it was really cool of them. Instead of shooing someone away from their little niche of the Web, they decided to embrace a newcomer. Kudos!
Let’s hope the hiatus for SLoM is short because I can’t wait to see what else Father Jack has in store for us.

SLoM was one of the few consistent WAR-related things that’s helped ease the wait for the game’s release. As you stated, I hope his LoA is brief and he returns with more great strips soon!

Yeah, they had some really good works as well. I particularly enjoyed the Women Book of Grudges one. Sucks to see this.
